How to set a Notion database form for specific websites

Do you often save clips from certain websites to a specific Notion database and find yourself manually looking and selecting the correct form every time? In this guide, we'll learn how to set up forms to be automatically selected for specific websites, making your workflow even more easier.

Step 1: Open Database Form Settings

  1. In the main interface, select the database form you want to configure.
  1. Click on Edit Form Settings at the bottom.

Step 2: Specify sites for Form Auto-Selection

  1. In the "Database Form Settings" interface, click on the Site settings tab.
  1. In the "Auto-select form on these sites" field, enter the sites where you want the form to be selected by default.
  1. You can specify:
      • Exact webpages: Enter the full URL of a specific page (e.g., chatgpt.com/c/chat123).
      • Wildcards (*): Use an asterisk to generalize the selection across multiple pages under the same domain (e.g., www.amazon.com/*).
      • Multiple sites: Use commas to separate multiple sites (e.g., gmail.com/*,outlook*).
Example Configurations:
  • Single Site: To auto-select the form on all Amazon pages, enter www.amazon.com/*.
  • Multiple Sites: To auto-select the form on both Gmail and Outlook pages, enter gmail.com/*,outlook*.

Step 3: Save Settings

  1. After entering your desired sites, click "SAVE & RETURN" to apply the settings.

Now, whenever you visit the specified sites, the appropriate form will be automatically selected, saving you time and reducing the chance of saving the clip to the wrong database.
